Rajat Jaipuria (CEO of RCM) was a true visionary when he opted to pilot his company towards organic cotton and ethical practices. From a small family owned business founded in 1934 by his Grandfather and continued by his father, Rajat transformed Rajlakshmi Cotton Mills (RCM) into a multi-million-dollar textile manufacturing facility.
What seemed a wild idea at a time when ecology and fairness were not considered cost-effective, is now a reality. Built on a foundation of eco-sustainability and social responsibility RCM now offers over 2000 jobs to workers of all skill levels.
RCM has become a leader in the area of Indian Organic cotton goods production. Leading the way in this industry of the future, RCM's range of knitted and woven apparel, as well as the extensive range of home textiles have found acceptance all over the world.
In a perfect world, business would always be conducted in a just and ethical manner. Relationships with clients, suppliers and employees would always be fair and transparent and business leaders would all take responsibility for protecting the environment.
But, unfortunately in the textile manufacturing business, truly dedicated leaders are very few and far between.

RCM is one of very few companies committed to producing Organic Cotton goods in a vertical chain of production – from farm to finished product. RCM deals exclusively in GOTS certified Organic and Fair-Trade cotton; this includes blends of organic cotton with other eco- fibers, such as linen and silk. Each and every step is controlled for compliance to GOTS strict guidelines.
