We are People Tree’s manufacturing partner. Both brands believe in social sustainability as well as environmental sustainability, which is why we choose organic cotton. Organic cotton is grown without the use of insecticides, pesticides and nitrogen fertilisers. Not only does this reduce the cost by 38% for farmers, but it also protects them from being exposed to toxic chemicals and eliminates the greenhouse gas emissions created though the production of these chemical fertilizers. Through organic farming, soils remain healthy and sequester more carbon helping to mitigate against climate change. Water consumption is reduced up to 91%, and there is a 40% reduction of C02 emissions per tonne of cotton fibre. FROM THEIR WEBSITE The people at Rajlakshmi craft different ranges all made from organic cotton.
